Dr. Christine Wang
Dr. Christine Wang has provided eye care at Tri-City Optometry for over 5 years. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Biochemistry major. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from Ohio State University in 2005 with Magna Cum Laude. During her externships at Columbus Veterans Administration Medical Centre, Retina and Vitreous Associates, and Columbus Faith Mission Homeless Shelter, she developed strong career interests in ocular pathology and preventive medicine.
Dr. Wang is a member of British Columbia Association of Optometrists. She has volunteered five years for the One Sight program, providing free eye care to the less fortunate in the local community.
Dr. Wang enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is able to provide services in English and Mandarin.
Dr. Monisha Lal
Dr. Monisha Lal graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in Portland Oregon in 2010. During her rotating internships Monisha specialized in detection of ocular disease, treatment of ocular infection and foreign body removal. She also spent time in a dry eye specialty clinic treating severe and chronic dry eye patients with the most current therapy options. She has since returned to Vancouver, where she had completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, to begin her career as an optometrist.
In her spare time Monisha loves to dance, in fact you may have seen her around the lower mainland with Footedge Dance Company for various events including performances during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics
Dr. Lal is able to provide services in English and Gujrati.
Dr. Karen Wong
Dr. Karen Wong pursued a Bachelor of Science at McGill University as a recipient of the prestigious R.E. Powell Scholarship. After several years at McGill University, she completed her Doctor of Optometry degree with Honours at the University of Waterloo, the only English speaking Optometry School in Canada.
Her vast clinical training includes multiple private practices in Canada, a multi-specialty ophthalmology clinic in Baltimore, and a specialty contact lens centre in Australia. Between her rotations, she has also volunteered to provide eye care to underserviced communities in Nicaragua. After many months abroad, she has returned to Vancouver with extensive experiences in Lasik, ocular pathology, and contact lenses.
During her free time, she enjoys travelling, snowboarding and tennis. Dr. Karen Wong enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is happy to provide services in Cantonese and English.
Dr. Harbir Sian
Born in London, England and raised in Vancouver, Dr. Harbir Sian completed his undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Sian then went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2010 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts.
During his final year of studies, Harbir completed clinical rotations in multiple settings, including: Ophthalmolgy practices that specialized in cataract, retinal, and oculo-plastic surgery; Portland Veterans Administration Hospital; Dimmock community health care in Boston; and private practice in Vancouver. He is also a member of British Columbia Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Sian is happy to provide services to patients of all ages in both English and Punjabi.
